Kicking Goals - Caring for the Community Bali Style
Our game at Cross Hotels & Resorts is about providing you with fabulous resorts, fantastic hospitality and memory-making service. Sustainability and eco-friendly living are a whopping part of our culture though they do not often hit the spotlight.
At Cross Hotels & Resorts, we aim to positively impact our local communities by integrating energy-efficient and enviro-friendly practices into our operations. It may sound altruistic, but we see ourselves as guardians of the community and consciously support and develop strong bonds with local community groups.
Away Bali Legian Camakila is one example of leading from the front with local community initiatives. Before and during the pandemic, they engaged in several sponsorships and partnerships within the business, entertainment and sporting community, focussing on local people and the expat population. We are so proud of their efforts, and here's why.
Being in a prime sporting location, the resort has linked with a few clubs and recently became a major sponsor for the Bali Geckos Aussie Rules Football Club. This club not only has a spirited Men's and Women's team but also a children's outreach program. Using Indo Kick, similar to Aus Kick in Australia, it immediately captured our team's hearts and minds.
The Indo Kick program partners with local primary schools, run coaching clinics, provides transportation to venues, purchases new equipment, and the like. The goal is to engage a new generation of Indonesian kids in playing Australian Rules Football. For the kids, they have fun learning new sporting skills and develop teamwork, leadership, and physical and emotional benefits. Top scores all around!
The round ball game also benefits. Bali Lost Boys Football is a small football club with a huge heart. Playing social football/soccer and futsal keeps them fit and healthy and supports many needy people in the community. Bali Lost Boys organise and play charity matches to raise money for community-based projects like these:
• Bali Streets Mums, a registered nonprofit organisation providing safe housing for children and mothers to save them from begging and trafficking, received much-needed funding.
• Another recipient was a charity in the memory of Jack Price, providing food and education to those in need.
A recent charity match raised 38,600,000 IRD or around 3,700 AUD. A sterling effort in tough times. With all their hard work, the Bali Lost Boys deserved a new kit, and thanks to Away Bali Legian's sponsorship, they are looking super hot.

Another winner is Falcons 2000 Soccer Club in Gippsland, Australia, which proudly welcomes Away Bali Legian as a sponsor to their club. This is another shining example of the hotel assisting a sporting organisation regularly undertaking fundraising and community initiatives close to its heart. In addition to providing club sponsorship, club members can get fantastic rates and deals at Away Bali Legian. Everybody wins!
Well done to the Away Bali Legian Camakila team.
Hua Hin – Top 7 reasons why it's ideal for your next Staycation or Workcation
These last two years of restrictions have been limiting for many of us – be it working from home, not being able to catch up with family and friends regularly, or boundaries on travelling domestically and more broadly.
We have also seen new ideas and concepts come into being. Like Staycations – taking short trips close to home and doing new things without blowing the holiday savings. And then there are Workcations – working remotely, but in an attractive place, giving you a change of scenery while keeping the boss happy but not eroding your annual leave allowance.

One place in Thailand that ticks the boxes for Staycations and Workcations, especially for those who call Bangkok home, is
Hua Hin. An idyllic beachside resort town with all the necessities and lots of 'down time' options. Here are our top 7 reasons for choosing Hua Hin for your next 'Cation. Oh, and we've got the ideal resort to help you make the most of that next Stay or Work 'Cation.
Many Bangkokians make a beeline to this popular royal resort town and desirable holiday destination, Hua Hin, for long weekends and New Year holidays. Around a three-hour drive from Bangkok, it's easily accessible by car, bus or train. However, instead of joining the end-of-weekend rush back up the freeway, why not hang out for a few more days, a week or longer, and enjoy all that Hua Hin has to offer without the crowds. And as a bonus, no daily commute to work with the thousands of others heading to the office. Safe social distancing is easy, and the air is fresh and clean.
Whatever your budget, competitive weekday and weekly or monthly packages are on offer in all styles of accommodation. Attracting many people are villas or apartments with kitchen facilities, more like a home away from home. While eating out is fun and doesn't mess up your living space, grazing on breakfast, chilling with friends, or a romantic dinner in your own personal area has high appeal.
We might be biased, but we think Itz Time Hua Hin Pool Villas By Cross Collection is an ideal option. One, two or three-bedroom villas, each with its own pool, kitchen for self-catering (if you want), great living and relaxation space, great wifi, plus a workstation if a desk is needed. The ultimate escape and 'Cation resort. A home-away-from-home ideal for happy moments with family and friends. Space, privacy, excellent facilities and, dare we say, a relaxed working away from the office environment.
Skiving off during the week can feel liberating when everyone else is working. Sure, you still have to keep the boss happy, though with fewer people around, it's easier to get to restaurants, attractions, shopping, and beaches once the work is done. No commute time and less traffic mean the space and freedom to enjoy the extra time available daily. Add to that superb weekday accommodation offers from properties like Itz Time Hua Hin Pool Villas to entice - your 'Cation just got extra affordable.
A key reason many people don't take 'Cations is that it means leaving loved ones (their furry, scaly or feathered friends) at home all alone. Local travel makes it so much easier to take your pet with you, and now many properties have switched on to making their places pet-friendly. When looking for pet-friendly accommodation options, check the property guidelines, like pet size and number allowed, available outdoor space, and any offered special facilities.
We know for sure your beloved friends are welcome at Itz Time Hua Hin Pool Villas by Cross Collection. As you will occupy a whole villa, your pets will love the space, special basket, toys, food and especially the green lawn and outdoor area. Happiness for the entire family at Itz Time Hua Hin Pool Villas by Cross Collection.
A change of scenery is like a breath of fresh air. Once a small fishing village, Hua Hin now offers good shopping and an excellent range of facilities and conveniences. Adding to those are cool cafes and beach clubs, plus eating out, from local food carts to the historic finger wharf seafood restaurants to trendy upmarket restaurants and bars. If you prefer, visit the fresh seafood and vegetable markets and cook up a storm at your 'Cation home. It's all here plus more.
Nowadays, Hua Hin is much more than its lovely beaches and fabulous seafood. Water parks, top-class sporting facilities, entertainment venues, hilltop temples, animal and refuge parks, the historic old town with teak houses and street art, and Hua Hin Train Station are all popular attractions. The beautiful Monsoon Valley Vineyard is just 30 minutes west of town, and there are three national parks within an hour's drive, including Sam Roi Yod and the famous Phraya Nakhon Cave. Oh, and more beaches. Serious pampering needed? Local, inexpensive massage and body treatments to high-end wellness resorts are on your doorstep and waiting to rejuvenate your body.
A Conference' Cation? Yes, if your workplace does need to come together for plenary meetings, brainstorming events or team-building happenings, why not take it off-site and out of town? Once again, Hua Hin is far enough away from the office though not too far, to add significant extra corporate cost to such get-togethers. Combining 'work and play', using sleek, clean and comfortable meeting facilities with outdoor and fun activities usually achieves astounding results. At Itz Time Hua Hin Pool Villas by Cross Collection, our boutique meeting facilities will allow you to get the creative juices flowing, build synergy and strengthen your business. And those favourable lower weekday rates could mean the boss can balance the budget or even splurge on the team with the savings made.
Staycations and Workcations have multiple benefits. After all, everyone needs time away to re-energise, reconnect with family and friends, breathe fresh air, reinvigorate or pamper yourself, or simply escape the rigours of daily life. All positively contribute to that work-life balance thing and are essential to our personal well being.

Where to go next for a weekend trip? What comes to mind first when asked this question? We believe Pattaya would be one of the popular answers as it’s not too far from the city of Bangkok. Not only is it convenient, Pattaya has basically everything you can ask for from chic cafes to delicious restaurants by the sea.
Most importantly, there’s a bunch of pretty hotels and resorts. Let’s recline and recharge at a newly opened hotel with a gorgeous design, huddled on a hill Pratamnak Mountain . All of which is considered a scenic viewpoint where you can inhale the ocean at Cross Pattaya Pratamnak.

Before arriving, you’ll drive along lush greenery and notice a creamy white five-storey building ready to welcome guests. The design team intended to design a trapezoid building with broken left and right corners in order to create a comfy hotel in the style of Modern Colonial with a hint of minimalism, simplicity, and serenity along with hidden details.
Because there are many openings that allow natural wind to blow through and a special high hall design, you can feel a relaxing vibe when walking towards the lobby. An outstanding interior of “Pratamnak Hill” which was interpreted by the designer - a classic vintage style with a slightly mature touch presented through a selection of antique decorations but still maintaining a contemporary concept combined with a variety of furniture to sit back and recline.

Guests will notice a large free form salt water swimming pool from the lobby which makes the overall mood seem comfy and delicate as it blends perfectly well with the atmosphere surrounded by greenery. The designer was eager to connect all the areas as one through an arch-shaped design in between the lobby area and the pool.

Take pleasure of the stunning ocean because even the standard room types offers a top sea view on the 4th and 5th floor, however, if you prefer not only a sea view but a picturesque panoramic view and a balcony that overlooks the Sunset and Koh Larn , we suggest the Elite Executive Ocean Suite. The room is 52 square meters and holds a modern contemporary style, a comfy ambiance with complete amenities and not forgetting the arch-shaped design in the bathroom area that completes the look of the hotel seamlessly.

The hotel does not have a beachfront as it’s located on a hill but there’s a private walk that takes only 2-3 minutes to the beach where you can feel the velvety sand between your toes. You can enjoy swimming in the ocean or even rent SUP Boards. Can this holiday get any more captivating than it already sounds?
