JOB DESCRIPTION
An Assistant Sales Manager supports the Sales Team through analysis and reporting of results and trends, recommends sales approaches to expand and add business, and develops the skills and culture of the Sales Team Members.
CORE TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyze local market trends and develop new business leads
2. Maximize all Revenue opportunities
3. Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments adherence to achieving that strategy
4. Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
5. Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients
6. Ensure the Sales Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards and pro-active selling
7. Develop and implement creative local marketing channels including social media sites
8. Work within current business strategies and recognize potential opportunities
9. Communicate with all departments as required within each hotel
10. Attend Sales events when required
11. Report on a weekly/monthly basis appointment, calls made, and list of business leads
12. Answer customer queries in a timely and suitable manner
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
1. Minimum 3 years experiences related to the position.
2. An additional spoken language is an advantage.
3. Positive attitude and good communication skills
4. Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
5. Excellent grooming standards
6. Excellent organizational and planning skills
7. Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
8. Ability to work under pressure and under own initiative
9. Previous experience in sales role with the ability to close a sale
10. Knowledge of local market
11. Strong leadership skills, whereas it is evident that you can effectively manage and motivate a team to perform beyond expectations
12. Strong analytical skills so to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
13. Business degree, or any relevant qualification, would be advantageous
